IN Chosen as Host City Evansville, Indiana - The World Championship of Cornhole selection committee is pleased to announce that Evansville, Indiana has been chosen as the host city for the World Championship of Cornhole IV. The announcement was officially made Friday, March 27, on ESPN Radio’s Dan Egierski show on WFYX in Evansville. The two-day event will take place September 5-6, 2009, at Evansville’s Metro Sports Center. "We are very excited about the selection of Evansville. Its Midwest location is close to many large metropolitan areas," said Jack Williams, Event Director. ;Evansville also offers a number of amenities that our competitors will appreciate including dining, lodging, shopping and gaming.” The World Championship of Cornhole IV will feature five big cornhole tournaments over a two day span. The first day will include the Womens World Championship, Juniors World Championship, Tri-State Championship and Downtown Throwdown. The second day features the World Championship of Cornhole IV offering a prize purse of $5,000. Tournaments will be open to all levels or players from novice to experienced competitors. All events will take place at Evansville's Metro Sports Center. "Players are going to absolutely love the Metro Sports Center," Williams said.
